Railway Recruitment 2018 (RRB)NOTIFICATION

RRB has recently released notifications for several posts of Group C and Group D.

The Railway Recruitment notification for Group C was released on 03-02-2018. It asks for a single application for all posts (Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians). Last date for the registration of the online application is 31-03-2018 (23:59 hrs.).

The Railway Recruitment Notification for Group D was released on 10-02-2018. The last day for the submission of online application is 31-03-2018 (23:59 hrs.).

The examinations are to be held tentatively in the month of April/May.

Pay Scale for Group C

The Pay Scale for Group C is Level 2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial pay of Rs. 19900 along with other emoluments and allowances as admissible.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY FOR GROUP C

  • LOCO PILOT (ALP): 10th/12th standard pass and ITI in relevant trade OR 10th/12th standard pass and diploma in relevant trade OR 10th/12th standard pass and degree in engineering.
  • TECHNICIAN: 10th/12th standard pass and ITI from an institution recognized under NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.

ELIGIBILITY: the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 30 years.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR GROUP C

The selection procedure for Group C consists of the following two stages:

  • First Stage Computer Based Test
  • Second Stage Computer Based Test
  • Only for ALP: Computer Based Aptitude Test
EXAM PATTERN

First stage CBT: It consists of multiple-choice objective type questions with negative marking of 1/3 marks.

Group D posts consists of career as Track Maintainer, Porter, Helpers in Electrical/  Mechanical/ Engineering/ Signal and Telecommunication Department, Gateman, Pointsman, Cabinman, Safaiwala, Leverman, Peon, Switchman, Khalasi, Gangman, Vendor, Sanitary Cleaner, Fitter, Keyman, Hospital Attendant and Welder.

Pay Scale for Group D

The pay Scale for Group D is Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial pay of Rs. 18000 along with other emoluments. The overall salary after adding the perks and allowances will be Rs. 23000-25000/-.

Career Growth for Group D posts: After 3 years work experience you can get promoted by taking departmental exams to Group C.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY FOR GROUP D – Railway Recruitment 2018

  • The candidates should be 10th pass OR
  • ITI from an institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT OR
  • National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by the NCVT
ELIGIBILITY: The minimum age is 18 years and the Maximum age limit is 33 years.

Moreover, candidates should fulfil the medical standards prescribed for the posts they are opting for.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR GROUP D POSTS

The selection procedure consists of the following steps:

  • Computer Based Test
  • Physical Efficiency Test
  • Document Verification

The Computer Based Test (CBT) consists of multiple-choice objective type questions with a negative marking of 1/3 marks for wrong answers.

EXAM PATTERN

The CBT consists of 100 questions on the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • General Science
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness

Duration: 90 minutes.
